Shri N.S. Samant Part-time Director - WAPCOS Shri N.S. Samant, JS (Admn. & GW), MOWR has been appointed as a Government Director on WAPCOS Board Dr. Arun Gopal Agarwal Independent Director - WAPCOS Dr. Arun Gopal Agarwal is an Independent Director on WAPCOS Board. He is also Chairman of the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee of WAPCOS. He has done Ph.D. in Export Viability in Tyres and Tubes. He is a Commerce graduate and a fellow-member of four institutes viz the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretary of India, Indian Council of Arbitration and All India Management Association. He has experience of more than 3 decades in the fields of Accounts, Audit, Finance, Costing, Management Accounting and Company Law matters in Private and Government sectors which includes working as CMD of Central Electronics Limited (C.E.L.) and Director (Finance) of Indian Tourism Development Corporation (I.T.D.C.). Sh. Har Sarup Chahal Independent Director - WAPCOS Sh. Har Sarup Chahal is an independent Director on WAPCOS Board. He is also a member of the Audit Committee and the Remuneration Committee of WAPCOS. He is Vice-Chancellor of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology, Murthal, Sonepat, Haryana. He has done B.Sc. Engg. (Civil) and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Highway Engineering from Punjab Engineering College. He is a faculty member of two Institutes namely National Institute for Training of Highway Engineers, Noida, U.P. and Haryana Institute of Public Administration, Gurgaon, Haryana. He is also member of Indian Road Congress, Technical Committee of IRC on “Rigid Pavement” and “Highway Safety Planning and Geometrics” and Institution of Engineers India. He has experience of more than 3 decades in the fields of Roads and Highway Planning and Design in various cities of India. Sh. Pradip Bhargava Independent Director - WAPCOS Shri Pradip Bhargava, an alumnus of St. Stephen's College of Delhi, is an IAS Officer (Retd.) of 1973 Batch of M.P. Cadre. He has held positions of Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Narmada Valley Development Department, Vice Chairman, Narmada Valley Development Authority, Director in the Board of Directors of Narmada Hydroelectric Development Corporation (NHDC Ltd.) and Director in the Board of Directors of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. (SSNNL). He has also served in various capacities in U.P., M.P. and G.O.I. in District Administration and General Administration, Command Area Development / Irrigation / Energy, Urban Development, Commerce and Industry / Public Sector, Taxation, Science and Technology / Research, Health and Family Welfare, Social Welfare, Local Bodies and Rural Development.   Core Management Group Sh. Amar Kumar Sr. General Manager (Projects) Sh. Amar Kumar is the Sr. General Manager (Projects) in WAPCOS. He is a B. Tech in Civil Engineering and had done post graduation in Management. He has rich experience of over 31 years, starting from SDO, Water Resources Department, Government of Bihar. In addition to serving various divisions and teams in WAPCOS, Mr. Kumar has served various national and international organizations including 4 government organisations of India, 5 foreign organisations and worked in tandem with various divisions and teams of WAPCOS. Mr Kumar has Experience in planning, investigation including geotechnical Investigation, design, preparation of pre-feasibility, feasibility and detailed project report, tender document, contract management, construction Management and overall project management covering 25 Major Projects and about 40 Other Projects in the discipline of Water resources i.e. Dam Engineering, Irrigation, Hydrology, Drainage, River Morphology and River Engineering, Flood Control projects in the discipline of Infrastructure Development projects ie Inland Navigation, Port & Harbors including Environment, Water Supply, Helipad, Road and building projects. Sh. Sunil K. Puri Sr. General Manager (Finance) Sh. Sunil K. Puri is the Sr. General Manager (Finance) in WAPCOS. Professionally, he is a qualified chartered accountant, having rich experience of 36 years in corporate finance management. He is overall In-charge of Corporate Finance Department, Preparation of Bid proposals where payments are financed through World Bank Funds, ADB Funding facility, Preparation of Budget (Revenue and Capital), Finalization of Accounts, Coordination with Govt. and Statutory Auditors. Mr. Puri also takes care of all the activities related to Income Tax and Service Tax Department, Vetting of Bid Proposals, Review of Ongoing Projects, Pursuance of outstanding payments from clients, Monitoring of Grant-in-Aid Projects, Preparation of Agenda’s for Board Meetings. Sh. M. M. Verma Sr. General Manager (Commercial) Sh. M. M. Verma is the Sr. General Manager (Commercial), and has more than 32 years of experience in business development and project implementation in the field of Water Resources, Power and Infrastructure Sector. Mr. Verma has done his graduation from Delhi College of Engineering, University of Delhi and Masters (M.Tech.) from IIT Delhi. Mr. Verma joined WAPCOS in 1986 on deputation from Irrigation Department, Govt. of Punjab and was subsequently absorbed in the regular cadre of the company owing to his technical competence and business acumen. He has worked in India and Abroad in his different capacities in WAPCOS for last 24 years in the following activities: Business Development activities, Preparation of Contract Document, Contract Negotiations, Planning, Design and Development of Hydroelectric Projects. Planning, preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, vetting of Designs and drawings for civil works related to Hydro Power and River Valley Projects. Preparation of Feasibility Reports, Preparation of Detailed Project Reports and Preparation of RFP Technical specifications & evaluations of bids. Sh. V. U. Koundanya Sr. General Manager (Planning) Sh. Vinayak Uddhavarao Koundanya is the Sr. General Manager (Planning). He is a B. E in Civil Engineering and holds M.Tech from IIT, Delhi. He has over 34 years of rich experience in the field of Water Resources Planning & Design including Water Supply and Sanitation Projects, Irrigation, Drainage including Hydro-electric Projects. Started career as an Engineer with M/s. Tulzapur & Associates at Amaravat in 1976, and later on worked with Irrigation Dept. Govt. of Maharashtra till December, 1977. Joined Central Water Commission in January, 1978 and worked at New Delhi, wherein designed Power House of Salal Hydro Electric Project in Jammu and Kashmir. Conducted Geo-Technical Investigations at various river valley Projects including Laboratory tests. Sh. Anupam Mishra General Manager (Hydro) Sh. Anupam Mishra, General Manager (Hydro) is in charge of all ongoing projects in Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar and looks after Business Development activities in South Asia and Africa. He is a B.E. (Civil), Delhi College of Engineering, University of Delhi, and has done MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi. Mr. Mishra has over 24 years of rich and varied experience in Project Management including Planning, Preparation of Technical and Financial proposals, Surveys and Investigations, Design, Cost Engineering, Preparation of DPR(s), Tender Engineering, Contract & Financial Management, Construction Supervision, Monitoring & Evaluation and Project Implementation / construction supervision of Infrastructure and Hydroelectric Projects. Planning and Design of Hydel Civil structures of Hydroelectric Projects like Intakes, Penstocks, Power House, Tail Race, etc. Sh. A. N. N. Prasad Project Director & General Manager (Salma) Shri A. N. N. Prasad is the General Manager (Salma). He is currently working as Project Director on the Salma Dam Project in Afghanistan.
